Questions for Sara Grant?

A Tapestry of Words For the upcoming blog event "A Cornucopia of Dystopia" I'd like to invite questions for Sara Grant, author of Dark Parties, from my readers. I'll choose some of them to put into an interview that will be posted during the event, so  you can check back and see if your question has been answered!

Here's a brief bio, excerpts taken from her profile on the SCBWI website:

"Sara Grant was born and raised in Washington, Indiana, a small town in the Midwestern United States. She graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, with degrees in journalism and psychology. For the next 13 years, she provided communications counsel for a variety of organizations, from a Fortune 500 company to a 15-person nonprofit. In 2003, she moved to London to marry her British sweetheart. This move allowed her to transition from full-time employment to part-time public relations consultant, freelance writer and part-time student. In 2006 she graduated with distinction from Goldsmiths College, University of London, with a master’s degree in creative and life writing.

Sara now works as a freelance writer and editor for Working Partners, a London-based company creating series fiction for children. Her publication credits include stories in Spider and Pockets children’s magazines. Dark Parties – a dystopian novel for young adults -- will be published in 2011 by Little, Brown."

And Goodreads' description of her novel Dark Parties:

"Dark Parties is a dystopian novel about a country that generations ago closed its borders to people and ideas. No one knows what exists outside their protected society. Neva and her best friend secretly plot to force the government to open its borders. Anyone who threatens the government seems to disappear mysteriously. Neva receives a message from her grandma who vanished without a trace 10 years ago, inviting her to escape to the outside. Now she has a choice–stay and save her country or leave and save herself."

Giveaway:

I'll be giving away three signed Losing Faith bookmarks to randomly chosen commenters who submit questions for Sara (note: the questions, however, will be subjectively picked for the interview). So along with your question please put down your e-mail address! Ends on Tuesday, Apr. 5 at 11:59 pm EST (extended one week from previous end date).

  1. Has Pyschology had a significant impact on the idea for her novel? If so, what aspects and in what way?

I know this sounds cliche but I wanna ask anyway 'cause I'm curious. What or who inspired you to write your novel? and where did you get your plot's idea? :D
