U-Pick: Character Most Likely to Double-Cross You?

Here's how this feature works: each week I'll post a categorical superlative (e.g. "most sadistic villain" "crankiest father figure" "protagonist you would most like to slap some sense into" etc.) and list a few choices of characters from YA books in a poll. You get to pick! The poll will run for a week, and then in the following post I'll update with the name of the winning character.

The last U-Pick poll was for the YA Character Most In Love With Him/Herself, and the winner by a hefty margin was...

...Professor Lockhart from Harry Potter!

I'm sure he'll be bragging about the title for a long time to come. This time around, the question is: which YA character do you think would be most likely to double-cross you?

There are lots of choices here, so vote below! (If the book is part of a series, I've just listed the series name. You can decide which book you want to base your vote on.) There's also an option for a write-in vote if your pick isn't listed. If that's the case, please choose "other" and then leave the character's name and book title in the comments :)

EDIT: the Blogger poll did not seem to be working properly (the votes kept disappearing!) so I've created a new poll that will hopefully work better. So if you voted once already with the original Blogger poll, vote again in this new one so your vote can be counted!

That's right, it's time to bring back the U-Pick feature! The last one was for the Most Endearing Animal Sidekick in YA, and it is probably no surprise that the winner was...

...Hedwig from Harry Potter!

This time around, the question is: which YA character is Most In Love With Him/Herself?

Last time the title of YA character Most Likely to End Up in Prison was up for grabs, and I am pleased to announce that the winner is...

...Rose from Vampire Academy!

Apparently she is just too impulsive for her own good.

This time around, the question is: who is the Most Endearing Animal Sidekick in YA?

I haven't had a U-Pick post since July — so it's time to remedy that! Last choice was for the Broodiest Hero in YA, and I think it comes as a surprise to no one that the title went to...

...Edward from Twilight!

Yep, he's looking broody all right. Guys who came close to beating out Edward were Will from the Internal Devices series, Varen from the Nevermore series, and Ash from the Iron Fey series.

This time around the poll is: which character in YA is most likely to end up in prison?

U-Pick: Broodiest Hero?

Last time the poll was for the Most Adventurous Heroine, and in the end the title was captured quite securely by...

... Tris from Divergent!

Second-place went to Alanna from Song of the Lioness and third to Rose from Vampire Academy. I'm a little surprised that so many of the other options received so few votes — I guess they're all going to have to step up their game if they hope to rival Tris!

And now for another poll: who's the Broodiest Hero in YA?

There are lots of choices here, so vote below! (If the book is part of a series, I've just listed the series name. You can decide which book you want to base your vote on.) The last poll was for the Protagonist You'd Most Like To Slap Some Sense Into, and one character — to no one's surprise, I'd imagine — took the lead early on and never looked back. Congratulations to...

...Bella!

The only other protagonist who came even close to threatening Bella's lead was Zoey from the House of Night series. The rest of the choices, apparently, just don't compare when it comes to absolutely witless behaviour.

Now it's time for a new poll: the Most Adventurous Heroine in YA?

U-Pick: Protagonist You'd Most Like To Slap Some Sense Into?

You get to pick! The poll will run for a week, and then in the following post I'll update with the name of the winning character.

The last poll was for the YA Couple With The Wittiest Banter, and there wasn't much of a contest for this one. The couple that took an easy win was...

...Anna and Étienne!

Hermione and Ron claimed second place, and Mary and James took third.

Now it's time for a new poll: the YA Protagonist You'd Most Like To Slap Some Sense Into.

U-Pick: Couple With The Wittiest Banter?

Here's how this feature works: each week I'll post a categorical superlative (e.g. "most sadistic villain" "crankiest father figure" "protagonist you would most like to slap some sense into" etc.) and list a few choices of characters from YA books in a poll. You get to pick! The poll will run for a week, and then in the following post I'll update with the name of the winning character.

The last poll was for the YA Character Most In Need of Psychiatric Help, and there was a clear winner! Congratulations to...

...Bellatrix Lestrange!

I think Bellatrix will be pleased to know that everyone acknowledges how twisted she is. Ty from Stolen came in a few votes behind her, and Eric from Divergent just managed to take third.

And this week, the topic is: YA Couple With The Wittiest Banter.
