In My Mailbox (33)

In this meme, hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren, we share the books we've received, bought or taken out from the library. This IMM covers the past two weeks.

I'm hard at work getting ready for Psychtember, so some of these books are for the event!

For review:

Popular by Alissa Grosso (thanks so much to Flux Books, especially for sending a second copy when the first didn't arrive!)

The Babysitter Murders by Janet Ruth Young (thanks, Janet!)

Won:

Tighter by Adele Griffin - won from @mariannabaer on Twitter. Thanks, Marianna! And she included a bookmark for her upcoming novel Frost, too :D

Bought:

A friend and I went to Book Warehouse the other day, a Vancouver bookstore chain where you can often find really awesome deals. That day was no exception! I collected a huge ton of books as I went around the store, but eventually narrowed it down to:

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer (I've read this one already but I didn't have my own copy)

Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta (I just read this one recently from the library and enjoyed it, so I thought I'd pick up a copy for myself!)

The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff (haven't read this one yet but I've heard good things)

I also couldn't resist a few library discards this week. All four of these only cost $1.75 total:

Z for Zachariah by Robert C. O'Brien
Reckless by Cornelia Funke
Death by Latte by Linda Gerber
Death by Denim by Linda Gerber

From the library:

We All Fall Down by Nic Sheff (adult memoir)
So B. It by Sarah Weeks
The Year My Big Sister Went Crazy by Sonya Sones (poetry)
A Note of Madness by Tabitha Suzuma

  3. Those are some great deals! I've never been to Book Warehouse but seeing the great prices on the books you got I'm going to have to head down there sometime next week.

  4. Lots of great books this week! I hope you like Popular, I've been interested in reading that. I'm glad you enjoyed Saving Francesca, I have still yet to read a Melinda Marchetta book - which is embarassing since she's such a popular Aussie author here!

Hope you enjoy all these! :)

  8. I'm so intrigued by 'The Babysitter Murders' ... I might have to get it from the library.

The 'Death By...' books are so fun! I think I got the 2nd one at a library sale, but I don't own the others yet.

  12. You got some great books and at awesome prices (even though I know publishers and authors hate to see their books on remainder tables and fire sales!) I'm looking forward to your Psychtember posts--maybe I should start writing my piece for it ehh?

  13. I want to go to that book warehouse. You showed impressive restraint in only getting three books from them :) And you won Tighter! I hope you like it. You can use it for Psychtember!
