In this meme, hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren, we share the books we've received, bought or taken out from the library.
I had an absolutely awesome mailbox week, because I received my giveaway prize from the Tenners! It was a boxload of book-related goodies, many of them very cute :) Take a look:
I love that a few handmade items were included, like a drawing from Jaclyn Dolamore of her characters Nimira and Erris (from Magic Under Glass, which I read and enjoyed), a crotcheted cat from Chelsea Campbell, soap from Olugbemisola Rhuday-Perkovich, and a charm bracelet made by Brenna Yovanoff (the charms on it appear to be a horseshoe, a pair of scissors, a wrench and a ring... not sure of their significance yet but I guess I'll find out when I read The Replacement!) Also, I adore The Language of Flowers book, it has the sweetest old-fashioned illustrations. And the journal has a note in it from Kristina McBride, giving it a nice personal touch :)
Plus, some of the items are super practical, which is awesome, like the umbrella, pedometer, travel sewing kit and the carabiner/flashlight/keychain/compass gadget. Very handy!
Anyway, a big thank-you to all the authors who contributed something to this giveaway!! It was so much fun opening the box and exploring what was inside :D I am interested now to see how these items relate to the books that I haven't read, so I am going to have to check them out!
From the library:
The Fire Opal by Regina McBride
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Rose in Bloom by Louisa May Alcott (this is a sequel to Eight Cousins that I only found out about recently!)
One Lonely Degree by C.K. Kelly Martin
All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins
Lady in Waiting by Susan Meissner
Wow that's an awesome prize! Congrats on your win!
ReplyDeleteI like the look of the cover for The Fire Opal. I think I'm going to have to look up a description on that one. Hope you enjoy your books!

Oh the box of goodies looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got some good books.
The prizes look awesome so congrats on your win. Oh, and I hope you love Anna and the French Kiss too.
ReplyDeleteWow lots of goodies, I actually won the same thing from the Tenners a couple months back and love all the different things that were included.
ReplyDeleteLots of fabulous goodies- congrats on winning it! I've read Rose in Bloom, it's a lovely story. Not many people seem to know that Louisa May Alcott wrote it.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome :) I can't think of any bloggers specifically who might like to join the challenge but I did mention in some challenge post comments about it when people said they were signing up for challenges to go outside their comfort zone.
No, I haven't watched Lark Rise to Candleford yet as I think it started on TV when I was younger and I never thought I'd catch up with the series. The man who wrote it, Julian Fellowes also wrote the script for Downton Abbey so I really want to see it now. Downton Abbey is set in an Edwardian country house just after the sinking of the Tiatanic and it's about the lives of the servants downstairs and the family upstairs. I can't wait for the second series next year The storylines are brilliant and I think you'd really enjoy it :D
Haha yes, guinea pigs are adorable. I've grown up with them since I was five!
Hi, Danya! Glad you enjoyed the swag, and you'll have fun with the language of flowers book this spring.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2011!
Amy (Brecount White)
Congrats on your win, the goodies look amazing! I've heard nothing but good things about Anna and the French Kiss, I can't wait to read it for myself but I'm like the billionth person requesting it at my library so I'll probably never get to read it, haha. Love the cover for The Fire Opal! Enjoy your books and goodies!
ReplyDeleteAmazing win and mailbox, Danya! I hope you enjoy everything you received :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh I loved Anna and the French Kiss! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, it's just such a cute story:)
ReplyDeleteOne Lonely Degree looks really good. Have you read anything else by C.K. Kelly Martin? I haven't read anything by her, so I'm wondering what you think. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome Tenners package! I haven't read Anna and the French Kiss, yet. I've read great things about it though. I think I'm going to check it out at my library. Enjoy your books! Happy reading :)
