I've been given the Stylish Blogger Award by Stephanie at Books Are A Girl's Best Friend, Bev at My Reader's Block, Bea at Bea's Book Blog, and Steph at Steph: Short & Sweet, and Bea also passed the Versatile Blogger Award on to me! Thanks everyone for thinking of my blog :D
The rules for both of these awards are:
1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award
2. Share 7 things about yourself
3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award!
Okay, let's see, 7 more things about myself...*wracks brain*
1.) In addition to reading I also do some creative writing — in fact, my sister and I have collaborated on a couple of writing projects and they've turned out to be lots of fun!
2.) I've participated twice in longboat races, which were exhausting but a great challenge :D
3.) I've climbed Mount Fuji and lived to tell the tale, despite the fact that I suffered from altitude sickness for most of the hike up.
4.) I was once in a choir that sang for the Canadian prime minister and the queen of England.
5.) In my first year of university I participated in a German play, acting the role of a pompous scholar and reciting a bunch of lines I didn't really understand (since I don't speak much German). Thankfully most of the audience didn't either!
6.) I once had a tarantula crawl across my hand (supervised, of course, at a bug museum :D)
7.) Even though it's been quite a few years since high school, I still frequently dream about being back there — too frequently for my taste!
I'm passing the Stylish Blogger Award (since the Versatile Blogger Award has been floating around the blogosphere for quite a while now) on to a few awesome bloggers I've discovered recently:
Stephanie at Poetry & Prose
Aylee at Recovering Potter Addict
Julia at That Hapa Chick
Congrats! :)
Mount Fuji? Impressive! Even with the altitude sickness.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the award! I'm crazy busy at the moment so I don't know if I'll find time to officially accept it on my blog but it's very cool that you thought of me!
The email: yes, I did receive it! Sorry I didn't respond sooner. So busy. I'm writing you back right now!
I almost went out for rowing at University of Iowa, but chickened out before auditions. I wish I had tried it!
ReplyDeleteYou're much braver than me! I wouldn't climb a mountain OR let a spider crawl on my hand!!!
Wow, impressive facts! My responses were all like "Um, I like chocolate" and here you are all "I climb mountains and sing for royalty" You are bursting with awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks so much for gifting this to me!!!! I once got to "carry" a tarantula too! I was probably around 4 or 5 and it was at the zoo. Goes to show I really have always been an animal/insect person! Haha. :)
ReplyDeleteLongboat racing sounds intense! I wish I had the ability to do something of the sort, but I'm honestly the worst at anything physical...and also lazy, heh.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the award! I'm definitely going to try to put up a post to pass it along. Thanks again!!
@Aylee: Aw thanks! No worries, I got your e-mail :)
ReplyDelete@Brooke: Oh, I'm not so very brave - I think I was extremely reluctant to let that tarantula onto my hand (it was only when I was really little, so I don't remember the details...but I am actually terrified of spiders!)
@Small Review: LOLLLLLL, thanks! Your comment made me laugh so hard. I've done a couple of these "7 things about me" already so I was running out of things to say, had to think hard for this one - my enormous sweet tooth and love for chocolate was mentioned in one of the first! :D
@Julia: My tarantula experience happened when I was really little too (although now I am totally not an insect person...perhaps the experience left some traumatizing effect? ;))
@Stephanie: Well, I wasn't much good at the longboat racing...but it was fun!
I love your facts! I agree that it's hard to come up with new ones after a while, I think I repeated some of mine LOL. I'm impressed you've climnbed Mount Fuji. My family are quite big mountain climbers (only small mountains though)and I've had a few hair raising dangerous experiences in the snow.
ReplyDeleteYes, I did get your email- Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I've replied now!
@Stephanie: Thanks! Wow, I'm impressed - sounds like you've had some pretty interesting mountain adventures! Mount Fuji is all just volcanic ash, so the mountain itself is not very pretty...but the view is gorgeous :D
